Dua and Dhikr

Dua for protection from shaytan.

1.

  أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطانِ الرَّجِيْمِ

A'oothu billaahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem

(I seek refuge with Allah against the Satan, the outcast.)

Narrated Sulaiman bin Sarad:

Two men abused each other in front of the Prophet (ﷺ) while we were sitting with him. One of the two abused his companion furiously and his face became red. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I know a word (sentence) the saying of which will cause him to relax if this man says it. Only if he said, "I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the outcast.' " So they said to that (furious) man, 'Don't you hear what the Prophet (ﷺ) is saying?" He said, "I am not mad."

(Sahih al-Bukhari 6115)

2.

Rabbi ‘a`outhubika min hamazaatish-shayaateeni, wa ‘a`outhu bika rabbi ‘ay-yahdhuroon

(My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they may attend (or come near) me.)

(Surah Al-Mu'minoon - 23:97-98)

3.

أُعيـذُكُمـا بِكَلِـماتِ اللهِ التّـامَّة، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْـطانٍ وَهـامَّة، وَمِنْ كُـلِّ عَـيْنٍ لامَّـة

A’oodhu bi kalimaat Allaah al-taammah min kulli shaytaanin wa haammah wa min kulli ‘aynin laammah

(I seek refuge for both of you in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous thing and from the evil eye which influences.)

Ibn ‘abbas said :

The Prophet (May peace be upon him) used to seek refuge in Allah for al-Hasan and al-husain, saying ; I seek refuge for both of you in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous thing and from the evil eye which influences. He would then say; your father sought refuge in Allah by them for Ismail and Ishaq.

Abu Dawud said; this is a proof of the fact that the Quran is not created.

(Sunan Abi Dawud 4737)
